When trying to emerge the 2008 version of texlive, the texlive-core package
fails to compile.

thanks for the report; i've eventually been able to reproduce it and added a
patch that should fix it.
as it's highly non deterministic (parallel make issue), please reopen after
syncing in a few hours if this doesn't fix it for you
(you should have PATCHLEVEL="8" or higher in tl-core ebuild)
