Globulation is an on-going project to create an innovative high quality
gameplay
by minimizing micro-managment and assigning automatically the tasks to the
units. The player just has to order the number of units he wants for a selected
task and the units will do their best to satisfy your requirements.
Globulation 2 can be played by a single player, through your Local Area Network
(LAN), or through Internet thanks to Ysagoon Online Game (YOG), a meta-server.
It also features a scripting language for versatile gameplay and an integrated
map editor.
Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1.
2.
3.
glob2-0.1-static.tar.gz (latest stable release) fails to compile on gcc-3.x
(author refuses
to fix it) and fails on gcc-2.x (missing header file ?)
glob2-latest-static.tar.gz (latest unstable release) is a bogus file of crap
... got me on
this ...
glob2-latest.tar.gz (cvs daily snapshot) works on gcc-2.x but again fails on
gcc-3.x (see
above reason)
that leaves us with a sort of 'well this sucks' kind of situation :)
Dispite difficulties, many authors have overcome hardship to release code
that works on gcc 2.x, gcc 3.2 and gcc 3.3. The globulation authors can't seem
to figure it out. When they release something that works, let me know.
ok, now that they've released a new version, lets check it out to see if it
still sucks ;)
i thought i re-opened this
glob2-0.8.2 is now in portage
