Thanks a lot for the note and I fixed this! 

SRC_URI seemed to be broken as well
so I've pointed it to the Gentoo mirrors for now.
There's a tarball available at the new homepage but
it is different from the one we have and has grown 
from 300k to 7M and includes loads of other stuff 
(swig, Numeric, ..) as well which seems quite odd.
Anybody know what is going on?
