Description Joel 2008-06-19 05:12:30 UTC
I've instaled firefox-3, but openoffice-2-4.x tries to downgrade it to firefox-2. I've changed the ebuild (only changed mozilla-firefox-2* with mozilla-firefox-3*), but then, the emerge fails with this:
rsc -presponse @/var/tmp/portage/app-office/openoffice-2.4.1/temp/mkTHZv44 > /dev/null
-------------
/var/tmp/portage/app-office/openoffice-2.4.1/work/ooo/build/OOH680_m17/extensions/source/plugin/base
Package firefox-plugin was not found in the pkg-config search path.
Perhaps you should add the directory containing `firefox-plugin.pc'
to the PKG_CONFIG_PATH environment variable
No package 'firefox-plugin' found
dmake: Error code 1, while making 'Shell escape'
---* RULES.MK *---

ERROR: Error 65280 occurred while making /var/tmp/portage/app-office/openoffice-2.4.1/work/ooo/build/OOH680_m17/extensions/source/plugin/base
make: *** [stamp/build] Error 1

I try to emerge openoffice with these USE:
app-office/openoffice-2.4.1 [2.4.0] USE="cups dbus firefox gstreamer gtk java kde ldap opengl pam -binfilter -debug -eds -gnome -mono -odk -seamonkey -xulrunner (-webdav%)" LINGUAS="es -af -ar -as_IN -be_BY -bg -bn -br -bs -ca -cs -cy -da -de -dz -el -en -en_GB -en_US -en_ZA -eo -et -fa -fi -fr -ga -gl -gu_IN -he -hi_IN -hr -hu -it -ja -km -ko -ku -lt -lv -mk -ml_IN -mr_IN -nb -ne -nl -nn -nr -ns -or_IN -pa_IN -pl -pt -pt_BR -ru -rw -sh -sk -sl -sr -ss -st -sv -sw_TZ -ta_IN -te_IN -tg -th -ti_ER -tn -tr -ts -uk -ur_IN -ve -vi -xh -zh_CN -zh_TW -zu"

Reproducible: Always
Comment 1 Andreas Kirsch 2008-06-19 05:23:57 UTC
I think you should not use firefox useflag instead of xulrunner.
Comment 2 Carsten Lohrke (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2008-06-19 14:56:15 UTC
OOo is not compatible with FF3.

I am running FF3 with OOo on many distros and also on Windows. Only Gentoo seems to have problems.

I emerged OOo and it downgraded to FF2. I then upgraded to FF3 again. Everything works as it should, but an emerge -u world wants to downgrade again.
Comment 4 Michael Behrns-Miller 2008-10-06 18:05:31 UTC
Exact same problem here. I've tried unmasking/keywording FF3, openoffice, xulrunner and other dependencies with no luck.

Here's [emerge --info] output:

Try removing "firefox" from USE and put "xulrunner" in there instead.
