Both net-misc/openntp and net-misc/ntp can be installed on a system. The usual practice is to set time at boot time with ntp-client, then keep it on sync with ntpd. the ntpd initscript from net-misc/ntp has "after ntp-client". The init script from net-misc/openntpd should include that line also. Reproducible: Always
fixed in cvs. as this is a minor bug fix, no revision bump has been done. please re-emerge the affected package...
