genlop is a perl script for parsing emerge.log and extracting useful information
it is being activley developed and is still in an alpha stage, but it works ok
here is the official website:
http://freshmeat.net/projects/genlop/
i think this goes in app-admin, on the basis that analog is there too
thank you

Very nice! I've added additional keywords for the arch's as there is no reason
that this can't be tested by them as well. If it is ok with you, I'd like to
ask the gentoolkit maintainers to include genlop in their meta package as well
- proper credit will of course be given =:) Is that all right with you
(assuming the gentoolkit maintainers go for it as well)(and assuming that the
giorgio on the cc: list is the same as the georgio listed as freshmeat as the
author)? In the interim, I will add it to the portage tree under app-admin.
Yes, I am the genlop's author and, of course, it is fine for me what you
proposed.
Just wanted to be sure before going forward :) I'll talk to karl about moving
forward. For now, this is in portage, so unless there are objections I'm going
to close it out.
hmm, you might want to wait still a few days, as Giorgio and me are working on
a new version of genlop with lots of added stuff.
It's already 3/4 done, it will probably be ready and tested by the end of the
week
so, some news, we are having difficulties in implementing everything we'd like
to put in.
giorgio has decided to make a last 0.16 release with the improvements that are
actually working.
I've opened a new bug for the new version:
http://bugs.gentoo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=25325
we'll keep on working on the 0.17 version
