i had a fight with tuxracer so i decided to install the latest STALBLE mesa libs. the only thing that needs 
to be done is change the name of the ebuild file to the current version nr. every thing ( at least i have) 
can be left as it is.

this breaks a variety of things so I'm marking this as WONTFIX.
