Wine depends on corefonts which is formally microsoft product.
I suggest to make it optional and use liberation fonts from RedHat, for example, which design as a free replacement of corefonts. There are few other fonts also available as an alternative:

Suggestion:
Verify and do not install media-fonts/corefonts if media-fonts/liberation-fonts-ttf is already installed.

ps. I realised that Wine is the only packages left in my gentoo which requires corefonts.
