Description:   Opened: 2008-02-14 07:34 0000
I use my desktop to build packages for my laptop. Noticed the following error
when I tried to emerge netpbm from the package. Maybe a case of pkg_setup()
having stuff that should instead be in src_unpack().

------- Comment #1 From Markus Meier 2008-02-16 14:50:17 0000 -------
vapier: could we use an environment variable instead of checking for the
sourcefile? like:

pkg_setup() {
        [[ -z ${CREATE_NETPBM_TARBALL} ]] || maint_pkg_create
}

of course this isn't that automagic anymore, but should prevent this bug. or do
you have a better idea?

------- Comment #2 From SpanKY 2008-02-16 20:56:10 0000 -------
i'll just comment out the function so i use it when i need it

------- Comment #3 From Zac Medico 2008-02-16 21:09:49 0000 -------
Using an environment variable to keep track of state seems like a reasonable
solution now that bug 56408 is fixed. Otherwise, see bug 154495 for other
possible solutions.

------- Comment #4 From SpanKY 2008-02-16 22:45:59 0000 -------
zmedico: it was only in there as a hack until we have a new package maintainer
phase that can be invoked via `ebuild`
