Neither scilab-4.0 nor scilab-4.1.2 compile completely.
Please see the attached log.

This look like a bug in scilabs java wrapper script. Could
you try with USE="-java" and see if that works.

Yes, that worked. I haven't used scilab extensively, I don't know what I'm
missing by not using java, but it seems most of the features I need are
present.

The missing pieces should be mostly wrappers for interfacing with
java. Hence, unless you were planning on doing just that
you probably won't notice any difference. I'll see if I can fix
the issue, otherwise I'll file a bug with upstream.

This should be fixed now in portage cvs. Please re-open
if you are still having problems with USE="java".
