Hi.
Thanks for your note! I think there will be much more errors than
just this one (which is easy to fix). It looks like this particular package
has been unmaintained upstream since 2003 and should
probably be removed from portage.
Best,
Markus

I have no particular use for it, I just compile them all. Feel free to assign
to treecleaners :)
Thanks,
Patrick
Hi Patrick,
We're currently in the process of removing old cruft from sci-*
and my comment was mostly a note to ourselves that qmatplot should
be part of this effort ;)
In any case, I much appreciate your help with testing packages;
this is very helpful.
Best,
Markus
Created an attachment (id=150242) [details]
Patch qmatplot so that it compiles even with gcc-4.3
It would be a pity to abandon a package just because it needs a few compile
tweaks.
The attached patch makes it work with the most current gcc-4.3, but I guess
earlier gcc-4* shouldn't be an issue either (the only real problem is the
is_sorted-function which was treated differently in earlier gcc versions).
Maybe one should add a blocker to bug 198121 so that people looking for gcc-4.3
patches find this one?
Thanks much for your patches! qmatplot seems to
be happy again after applying them :)
If there is user interest in a package we will
certainly keep it around unless it becomes a
nightmare to maintain or a security issue. So
for now we'll cross qmatplot off our list of
to-be-removed packages :)
Best,
Markus
