Gentoo specific makefile (goes in ${DISTDIR}
All the FAKE_ROOT Makefile hacking is not needed anymore, make DESTDIR=${D} install works now. The build in portage works fine with no or minor changing (except removing patches, etc) when I last built it a month or two back. Yes, the FAKE_ROOT is not needed with 3.3, etc, but currently this is lower than the basement on my todo list. We have 1.4, etc, etc, and adding 3.3 will just create more issues than we want currently. Created attachment 12050 [details]

CVS users will need to use the old ebuild and patches still.
