Hello,
It's highest time to finalize the gnome 2.18 series by stabilizing the
remainder of bug fix releases.
From the below list please stabilize the packages that your arch has stable in
an earlier version/revision already (sorry, no arch specific lists this time).
The stabilization of vte requires the newer python-2.4* revision to be
stabilized first, that has a python-config fix required for vte python binding
to get compiled as requested by USE flag.
Here's the list:
x11-misc/xdg-utils-1.0.2
dev-util/desktop-file-utils-0.14
app-admin/gamin-0.1.9
gnome-base/orbit-2.14.8-r3
gnome-base/gnome-menus-2.18.3-r1
x11-libs/libwnck-2.18.3
x11-misc/shared-mime-info-0.22
app-accessibility/gnome-speech-0.4.16
dev-libs/libxslt-1.1.20-r1
x11-libs/libgksu-2.0.5
gnome-extra/gconf-editor-2.18.2
dev-python/pygtk-2.10.6
x11-libs/vte-0.16.8
gnome-base/gnome-desktop-2.18.3
gnome-base/eel-2.18.3
gnome-extra/gtkhtml-3.14.3-r1
gnome-base/nautilus-2.18.3
app-accessibility/dasher-4.4.2
gnome-extra/gnome-media-2.18.0-r1
gnome-base/libgnomeprint-2.18.1
www-client/epiphany-2.18.3
mail-client/evolution-2.10.3
gnome-extra/evolution-exchange-2.10.3
app-editors/gedit-2.18.2-r1
gnome-base/gnome-light-2.18.3
gnome-base/gnome-2.18.3
I can take this on amd64/x86.

Ok, I emerged it and it worked fine on x86.
gnome-2.18.3 depends on >=app-accessibility/gnome-mag-0.14.6 with accessibility
USE flag enabled however gnome-mag-0.14.6 is still in testing.
nautilus got tracker support removed so that x86 can stable it (and x86 was the
only one using said support anyway).
The requirements on ekiga and gnome-mag have been lowered in the meta so that
it should be all good now.
It looks like amd64 and x86 are done.
ppc is also done - on a sidenote: tests are failing for epiphany (dtd
validation), you might want to restrict tests.
Stable for HPPA.

gentoo/cvs/gentoo-x86/gnome-base/gnome $ grep gnome-mag gnome-2.18.3.ebuild
>=app-accessibility/gnome-mag-0.14.3
Mips is done. I checked the packages here and compared against what I have
installed on my Octane, and only a couple needed updating, which is now done.
The remaining packages listed here turn up as masked for me.
gedit-2.18.2-r1 stable on sparc now. (Required for 2.18.3.)
ppc is missing:
x11-libs/libgksu-2.0.5
sparc stable
