Do your kind of magic...x86 already done.
OMG! -r2 has never been commited...it lay around locally here.
Sparc stable --- all tests pass and demos work. Built with
USE="X pdf emacs readline plotutils tetex".
I won't revert stable sparc keyword, but all other arches please wait, until I
reopen.
x86 stable and arches go for it, the 30 days are over
Marked stable on amd64. The test phase was lovely. :-)
segfault on ppc in test fase.

However if I run make check from an Xterm then the tests all pass. Looks like
some demo's don't handle the absence of an xwindows environment properly.
But things seem to work otherwise ok, so stable on ppc.
On sunday 14th I will request stabilisation of 4.2.2, so maybe you want to wait
for that, ppc64
Let's do the latest version
same make check segfault, but that's no regression so stable on ppc
on amd64:
i just merged
sci-visualization/gnuplot-4.2.2
USE="X gd pdf plotutils readline tetex wxwindows -doc -emacs -ggi (-svga)
-xemacs"
and was amazed by its test suite ;-). apart from that i did some rather simple
2d and 3d plots that weren't that amazing after all, but looked quite sane.

Readd all arches for the next round...s390 hasn't been done yet, so recycling
this bug. g2boojum has to leave, as he is not maintaining this anymore.
Anyway, this revision disables the test suite for USE=wxwindows and does not
build the already available documentation, which caused a lot of hassle for
users and should therefore go to stable.
Compiles, merges, and works on amd64 for me.

Stable for sparc. (Running since 31 October --- we are talking

This will not hold back stabilisation...arches, please go on.
ppc64 done, sorry for the lag. moving to fixed as last arch. you close!
