Hi!
Please find attached ezquake-bin-1.8.0.ebuild, which is an update to the
existing ezquake-bin-1517.ebuild. The new build is quite revolutionary (lots of
changes, including versioning change). Version 1517 is not supported anymore
and should be removed or hard masked. Also the ebuild is much different (and
much better imho) so I'm submitting the whole file instead of a diff. Sorry for
the delay, next ezquake ebuilds should come on time.
regards

ezquake-1.8.ebuild
Here's a reasonable attempt to shoehorn ezquake into a shared structure,
compiled from source. It works, but feel free to improve it.
ezquake has jerky movement on my x86 PC. Joequake, Qrack and Darkplaces are not
jerky.
1. It is recommended to use official builds of ezquake, compile from svn at
your own risk
2. Cannot reproduce, works smoothly on my x86, x86_64 and amd64. Maybe try
default config.
regards,
Patryk
Compiling from source:
gcc: libs/linux-x86_64/minizip.a: No such file or directory
gcc: libs/linux-x86_64/libpng.a: No such file or directory
gcc: libs/linux-x86_64/libz.a: No such file or directory
gcc: libs/linux-x86_64/libpcre.a: No such file or directory
gcc: libs/linux-x86_64/libexpat.a: No such file or directory
gcc: libs/linux-x86_64/libtcl8.4.a: No such file or directory
gcc: libs/linux-x86_64/libjpeg.a: No such file or directory
It seems like it's got it's own .a files and that's what the makefile uses.
Should use the ones already installed on the system.

Renaming the ebuild and removing the MY_PV variable works on my amd64 rig.
Yeah, that should be enough for the new version. There should be a security
module too, so the new ebuild will require this addon as well. (1.8.0 didn't
get a security module at all).
We definitely would prefer the source build on Gentoo, but the 1.8 version of
the ebuild fails to build for me. Someone want to try to reroll for 1.8.2?
what about using the nquake ( www.nquake.com ) installer to install ezquake if
-bin ?

For the QW community, the -bin version is absolutely more important. The reason
behind that is we cannot use our own builds in tournamets and official games
(for security purposes). Nevertheless it ain't a proprietary blob, the source
is out there!
I'll get this updated tonight using the ebuild from bug #214317, which is based
on this one.
