can't reproduce :( Tried even building inside /dev/shm tmpfs, and disabling userpriv and usersanbox and still succeeds over here. (In reply to comment #2) > can't reproduce :( > Tried even building inside /dev/shm tmpfs, and disabling userpriv and > usersanbox and still succeeds over here. Those have nothing to do with it. app-text/gnome-doc-utils (/usr/share/xml2po/docbook.py) It seems python 2.5 is byte-compiling stuff off its own accord. @python: Is this specific to >=python-2.5 and not to <python-2.5? Note that gnome-doc-utils does call python_mod_optimize in pkg_postinst on ${ROOT}usr/share/xml2po (In reply to comment #4) > Note that gnome-doc-utils does call python_mod_optimize in pkg_postinst on > ${ROOT}usr/share/xml2po Which is why I invited python@ to explain when byte-compiled files will be automatically updated. It seems this might have been due anyhow: Wed Jul 12 02:07:11 2006 >>> app-text/gnome-doc-utils-0.4.4 Sat Jul 15 11:22:48 2006 <<< app-text/gnome-doc-utils-0.4.4 Sat Jul 15 11:22:48 2006 >>> app-text/gnome-doc-utils-0.6.1 Sat Jul 15 13:52:23 2006 >>> gnome-extra/gcalctool-5.8.16 Sat Oct 21 00:54:28 2006 >>> app-text/gnome-doc-utils-0.6.1 Wed Jan 17 21:18:23 2007 >>> gnome-extra/gcalctool-5.8.25 Fri Jan 19 09:18:22 2007 <<< app-text/gnome-doc-utils-0.6.1 Fri Jan 19 09:18:22 2007 >>> app-text/gnome-doc-utils-0.8.0 Tue May 8 04:19:29 2007 >>> dev-lang/python-2.5.1 Tue May 8 07:14:11 2007 >>> dev-lang/python-2.5.1 Thu May 10 17:34:49 2007 >>> dev-lang/python-2.5.1 Mon May 28 08:01:07 2007 <<< dev-lang/python-2.5.1 This means that gnome-doc-utils was not re-emerged while or after python-updater (old-style) did its work and consequently, that the optimisation was only carried out when gnome-doc-utils was used again. If so, this bug could well turn out to be invalid. I'll report back after finishing the python-updater run, which is at 47 out of 72 packages now. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 123314 *** |
