It is apparently too short.

Steps to Reproduce:
1.emerge --sync
2.emerge -v =wxpython-2.6.3.3
3.

Actual Results:  
download 18M file from one mirror, then erase it,
download 18M from next mirror, erase it...

Should be fixed. Please resync in an hour or two and test.

emerge -f wxpython
 works well now.

I have many deps to compile yet...
