As http://www.gentoo.org/proj/en/devrel/handbook/handbook.xml?part=2&chap=1 states, "The third subsection, {_suf{#}}, is optional may contain one of these predefined suffixes" while the said ebuild for MPlayer contains two suffixes. Emerge doesn't seem to be bothered at all but Paludis is ( :) and the flaw is definitely in the version of the ebuild.

So, I'd like to ask to get the current mplayer versioning re-fixed now that it's legal to do it again. http://www.gentoo.org/proj/en/council/meeting-logs/20070510-summary.txt 1.0.20070321, 1.0.20070321-r1, 1.0.20070427 - are all > 1.0 which has not been released yet, pretty much broken. I guess next stabilization round would be a good time for this (together with making a new snapshot for ~arch users).
