Do you have an application that still requires pdfkit instead of popplerkit? The gnustep overlay has updated ebuilds for popplerkit/vindaloo for PDF viewing (upstream is the etoile project now), and pdfkit will eventually be phased out in portage. Some packages in the official Gentoo portage seems to be based on PDFKit (like ViewPDF IIRC). However, I never tried the GNUStep overlay, but if it is more recent, I will change to it. Thank you. Yes, viewpdf was the application based on pdfkit, replaced by vindaloo (also bumped in the gnustep overlay) which is based on popplerkit. gworkspace in portage also has an optional depend on pdfkit, a patch from debian changes it into a depend on popplerkit in the overlay we focus development efforts on the main tree currently which phases out PDFKit |
