I have made this functionality for dolphin on kde4. It has been commited into
KDE's subversion repository today. But Peter (the maintainer of the dolphin
file manager) said that he will not be releasing any more dolphins for kde3, so
if I wanted to do a backport, I will have to do it on my own. For more info,

Well, I made a backport and now I am commiting it to Gentoo's repository.
This patch for the dolphin adds the ability to browse the archives (.zip and
various .tar-based archives). That is something that konqueror had for a long
time and dolphin didn't. I think that this functionality is useful and I use it
on konqueror all the time.
