Bug 16495 - grep-2.5.1.ebuild installs {grep,egrep,fgrep} into /usr/bin instead of /bin
Bug#: 16495 Product:  Gentoo Linux Version: unspecified Platform: All
OS/Version: Linux Status: RESOLVED Severity: major Priority: P2
Resolution: FIXED Assigned To: agriffis@gentoo.org Reported By: T.Henderson@cs.ucl.ac.uk
Component: Core system
URL:
Summary: grep-2.5.1.ebuild installs {grep,egrep,fgrep} into /usr/bin instead of /bin
Keywords:
Status Whiteboard:
Opened: 2003-02-27 14:36 0000
Description:   Opened: 2003-02-27 14:36 0000
grep-2.5.1.ebuild installs grep into /usr/bin, rather than /bin. This causes
problems on bootup if /usr is on a separate partition. A quick solution is to
copy grep-2.5.ebuild to grep-2.5.1.ebuild, since the older ebuild installs grep
into /bin

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:

1. emerge grep-2.5.1.ebuild
2. reboot (with /usr on a separate partition)
3.

Actual Results:
/sbin/rc: egrep: command not found

Expected Results:
found grep and egrep in /bin

Thanks and I'm very sorry about that! It's fixed in cvs in 2.5.1-r1
