Bug 158075 - stabilize dev-db/libpq and dev-db/postgresql 8.0.13
Bug#: 158075 Product:  Gentoo Linux Version: 2006.1 Platform: All

Description:   Opened: 2006-12-13 13:37 0000
Dear arch-team members.
Please stabilize the mentioned versions below of libpq and postgresql on your
arch since they resolve a security bug (see blocker).

ppc64: 7.4.14, 8.0.9-r1
all others: 7.3.16, 7.4.14, 8.0.9-r1

Notes:
i) libpq has no tests available and has to be stabilized based on "it compiles"
ii) for postgresql-8.* are regression-tests available, prior versions have to
be stabilized based on "it compiles" or "seems to work here".
iii) Please make sure that you remove older versions of libpq and postgresql
before testing to avoid file collisions (background: libpq's slotting is not
working correctly when passing from 7.x to 8.x; pg_config is no longer provided
by postgresql, but by libpq)

Thanks in advance!

Tiziano, I hope you know that your actions are a bit uncommon. After providing
the ebuilds, security calls arches on the security bug and keeps tracks about
it. This is needed in order to help them work, prepare GLSAs and similar.

------- Comment #2 From Raphael Marichez 2006-12-14 02:55:30 0000 -------
do you mind if we dupe 158075 with 152783 so that the security team can view
the process, count down the remaining arches, vote for a GLSA decision and
finally close the bug? Thanks

x86 stable...if you activate FEATURES=userpriv all postgresql versions provide
tests.

*** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of 152783 ***

Dear arm, mips, s390 and sh Team Members.
Please stabilize to mentioned packages on your arch as soon as possible or drop
your stable keyword if you don't have enough people to take care of it and/or
you think your users don't care either.
We would like to see this bug being closed in two weeks from now.
Thanks!

------- Comment #6 From Tiziano Müller 2007-06-09 13:44:00 0000 -------
While doing some cleanup I noted that s390,arm,sh don't have 8.0.13 marked
stable as well. Could you please do that? Thanks!
