... (not application/x-ogg) and also "audio/x-vorbis+ogg" (which is what
content sniffing returns) to be "more compatible" with shared-mime-info.

It's also a good idea to change "Exec=audacious" to "Exec=audacious -p",
for this allows passing more than one audio file to audacious from
nautilus.

Could you attach your corrections as a .diff please? I'm certainly interested
in getting this in upstream SVN and on an updated ebuild.

The requested patch/diff

Here we are.

Don't know how "much path" (-pN) you'll need in the patch.
This one is based on the "audacious-1.1.2" folder.

ByTheWay:
  The patch contains a correction to my previous coment, i. e. it
  should be "Exec=audacious -p %F" not just "Exec=audacious -p".

Your patch has been merged upstream, and is in the 1.2.2 release. Thank you for
your contribution, and enjoy the new release. It offers new skins and working
doublesize as well :)
