after emerging rar-3.6.0 and running i obtain the following error:
rar: error while loading shared libraries: libstdc++.so.6: cannot open shared
object file: No such file or directory
i suppose there are wrong library dependencies.
rar-3.5.1 works for me.

rar: error while loading shared libraries: libstdc++.so.6: cannot open shared
object file: No such file or directory
Did you forget to run source /etc/profile after upgrading your gcc?
libstdc++.so.6 is provided by gcc-4*
betelgeuse@pena ~ $ qfile libstdc++.so.6
sys-devel/gcc (/usr/lib/gcc/i686-pc-linux-gnu/4.1.1/libstdc++.so.6)
app-office/openoffice-bin (/usr/lib/openoffice/program/libstdc++.s
im still running on gcc 3.3.6
The issue here could be that you have to have gcc-4.* installed. Do you have it
installed but haven't switched to it yet?
Well, we don't support gcc-3.3.6 any more. The dependencies are just fine. (I
did check with rar-3.5.1, not 3.6.0, sorry for the wrong dupe).
Upgrade to gcc-3.4.x or 4.0, closing this.
I modified 3.6.0 to show an ewarn if the system gcc is not new enough to run
rar.
