exactly the same here! It's a bit annoying cause a couple other packages also depend on it. Heopfully you guru's will fix this up soon. I also have an amd64 machine, but apparently it's not amd64 specific.

Here's my emerge --info... should you require any additional info, please let me know:

Comment 8 Peter Johanson (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2006-10-19 10:15:15 UTC
The problem is actually in the DEPENDS section of the gnomevfs-sharp-2.16.0 ebuild... It should depend on gnome-vfs-2.16.0, not 2.14.0. You should be able to bump the dep, re-emerge gnome-vfs-sharp-2.16.0, then this should work.

I don't have access to my dev machine right now, I will fix this tonight when I get home. Please report if the above fixes things. Thanks.
Comment 9 Jaime Fullaondo 2006-10-19 11:25:28 UTC
I can't believe I didn't look at the ebuild to spot that one out. Thanks a lot bro! After bumping the dep and recompiling everything went silky smooooth. So yup, just emerge -v '=gnomevfs-sharp-2.16.0', and then you're set to go!

Thanks for the speed Peter, you own!!
Comment 10 Glenn Enright 2006-10-19 20:46:44 UTC
ok gnomevfs-sharp installs fine, but gnome-sharp-2.16 is still broken...
Comment 11 Daniel Fort 2006-10-21 21:44:26 UTC

> ok gnomevfs-sharp installs fine, but gnome-sharp-2.16 is still broken...

I can verify that here too. Same problem as originally reported except things seem to be much worse. I had to go all the way back to gnome-sharp-1.0.10 before I found a version that compiled. Strange, because I used to have 2.8.2 running just fine.

Comment 12 Eli Ben-Shoshan 2006-10-24 06:19:17 UTC
I had the same problem as everyone else. The solution seems to be to unmerge all versions of gnome-sharp. Then emerge gnomevfs-sharp followed by gnome-vfs. Then you can go back and emerge gnome-sharp. Seems to have helped for me.

Comment 14 Peter Fox 2006-10-28 03:47:26 UTC
To fix mine I had to add the following line to package.keywords

gnome-base/gnome-vfs ~x86

then emerge gnome-vfs to get it to version 2.16.1.
After that emerge gnomevfs-sharp again, then
gnome-sharp emerges fine.
Comment 15 Karl H 2006-10-31 13:16:01 UTC
I can confirm my issue got fixed after doing what Peter Fox did in #14
Comment 16 Glenn Enright 2006-11-01 12:24:23 UTC
After a recent sync, emergeing gnome-vfs-2.16.1 and gnomevfs-sharp-2.16.0, gnome-sharp emerged cleanly. Thanks all for the feedback.
Comment 17 Peter Farr 2006-11-03 14:05:17 UTC
I tried the various work-arounds listed here but they did not work for me. Then I came across http://forums.gentoo.org/viewtopic-t-498473-highlight-gnomesharp.html which suggested unmerging gnome-sharp, then emerging gnome-vfs, gnomevfs-sharp, and gnome-sharp. This worked for me.

gnomevfs-sharp-2.16.0-r1.patch

accordling to the gnomevfs-sharp configure file, the minimun required gnome-vfs version is: 2.15.0.
the ebuild in portage require a *WRONG* 2.14 serie, causing the problems at the present bugreport.

the supplied patch modify the portage ebuild to force a gnome-vfs-2.16.0 dependency, fixing all these bugs. please bump the new ebuild into the portage as soon as possible, thank you.
Comment 19 Saleem Abdulrasool (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2006-12-06 18:37:23 UTC
Many apologies for taking so long to address this bug. Updated the dependency (without a revision bump). This should now be corrected. Thank you everyone for your patience.

I have x86_64 and gnome-vfs-2.18.1, gnome-sharp-2.16.0 doesn't compile with similar error report. Error message and emerge --info on demand.
