Same here. ivman mounts the devices nonetheless. The warnings disappeared on my machine downgrading to dbus-0.62. Can be something expat related (see changelog)? Thanks. Is this bug supposed to go away with dbus-0.9*? Cheers. I have not heard anything from Rohan in ages, so this is likely not going to be solved on its own. If anyone particularly cares he can give me a patch and I will commit it. (In reply to comment #4) > Since dbus-0.61 is not supported anymore (see bug 153972), also dbus-0.62-r1 > outputs these warnings. > > Is this bug supposed to go away with dbus-0.9*? > > Cheers. > I am running with dbus-1.0 and the problem is worse. I get a message about the same dbus function (dbus_move_error()), but ivman doesn't start at all now. process 15442: arguments to dbus_move_error() were incorrect, assertion "(dest) == NULL || !dbus_error_is_set ((dest))" failed in file dbus-errors.c line 254. This is normally a bug in some application using the D-Bus library. D-Bus not built with -rdynamic so unable to print a backtrace Aborted So, it does not seem it will be solved with newer dbus. I also notice there has been no activity whatsoever in the ivman project for quite some time. I'm getting this too. And now ivman does not even try to mount my usb card reader, and looks like is trying to mount my cd/dvd drive more than once. I see: ivman: Won't try to mount device /dev/hdd, as it is already mounted Repeated a few times at /var/log/messages, after the lines saying ivman have mounted the device. <troll>If new dbus version was marked stable, it should not give users this type of problem.</troll> (In reply to comment #7) > I'm getting this too. And now ivman does not even try to mount my usb card > reader[...] Well, looks something else is weirder than normal. Although my cardreader is detected and it is displayed at /var/log/messages and /proc/partitions, its device is not created automatically in /dev. Something is wrong with udev here, not sure if related to this problem. (In reply to comment #7) > I'm getting this too. And now ivman does not even try to mount my usb card > reader... Sorry for one more comment. I found that, for some unknown reason, udevd was not running on my system. > and looks like is trying to mount my cd/dvd drive more than once. This also happens for my USB cardreader. I observe multiple mount tries, even after the device is already mounted. *** Bug 156482 has been marked as a duplicate of this bug. *** rohan is (was) the maintainer of ivman. If he has no interest in maintaining it and no one else steps up we can probably treeclean this *** Bug 155793 has been marked as a duplicate of this bug. *** Ivman 0.6.13, just released, should fix the dbus errors. The other issues besides dbus errors may not be related. As for the future of Ivman, my feelings are that it really needs rewriting from scratch, or replacing with a similar program. Can someone please confirm that 0.6.13 fixes the issues? It does not work for me probably because I use the broken hal-0.5.8.1 (In reply to comment #14) > Can someone please confirm that 0.6.13 fixes the issues? It does not work for > me probably because I use the broken hal-0.5.8.1 > ivman-0.6.13 works for me. I'm using hal-0.5.7.1-r1 and dbus-1.0.1-r1 thanks, committed |
