Hello everyone,
For the last few months I've been writing this init-replacement called eINIT.
It came up a couple o' times in the forum's OTW section and in my signature.
Since just recently Ubuntu has announced their own replacement for init --
upstart -- I've been trying to get this program done a little faster than I had
originally intended to. Now, since I'm only using Gentoo/Linux on my desktop
machine, I wrote this live cvs-ebuild to help me maintain test-copies of eINIT
on my boxes. I've also placed links to the project itself and a portage overlay
with this ebuild in my forum signature, however I figured that, since eINIT is
rather stable as of late, I might submit this ebuild for inclusion in the main
portage tree -- it's no use to anyone if it's idling in my signature and in a
private portage overlay of mine, now is it?
In my overlay, I used sys-apps/einit as a package name, thus I would suggest
that. This is a Live CVS-ebuild and it depends on dev-libs/expat. If
documentation is to be generated (via the doc-use-flag) it also depends on
app-text/docbook-sgml and app-doc/doxygen. I tested the overlay on my box, and
it seemed to work flawlessly.
Greetings,
Magnus
re-open when there's an actual release; we're not adding a livecvs package to
the tree when there is no one who can take care of it

Alright, I did as you suggested and waited till the next release, which
happened about an hour ago. I created this ebuild for the 0.10 version,
requirements should be the same.
As for maintaining, I'd volunteer for that if there's no maintainer
interested...
einit has been updated to version 0.12, i'll tag the new ebuild and overlay
along...
did a bugfix release earlier today, same ebuild as 0.12, just needs to be
renamed
i've cleaned up the ebuild and added einit-0.14.0.500 to cvs
