I was able to work around this by first emerging the deps, then finally emerging ghostscript-gpl itself: : jmglov@foo; USE='-doc' emerge -av nasm lzo gnutls : jmglov@foo; USE='gnutls gtk jpeg2k opengl X' emerge -av cups : jmglov@foo; USE='gnutls gtk jpeg2k opengl X' emerge -av ghostscript-gpl [...] >>> app-text/ghostscript-gpl-8.54 merged. >>> Recording app-text/ghostscript-gpl in "world" favorites file... >>> No packages selected for removal by clean. >>> Auto-cleaning packages... >>> No outdated packages were found on your system. * GNU info directory index is up-to-date. : jmglov@foo; echo $? 0 : jmglov@foo; (In reply to comment #1) > I was able to work around this by first emerging the deps, then finally > emerging ghostscript-gpl itself: ---8<--- Thanks that worked for me too. (I was trying to emerge kdebase. I'm curious: kde and ghsostcript are hardly obscure packages so I wonder how this bug hasn't got picked up before.) I can confirm this bug as well, ran into this exact issue on a fresh 2006.1 install. Comment #1 worked as a fix in my case as well (without using USE on CLI as demonstrated in Comment #1) (In reply to comment #0) > ./obj/echogs -e .dev -a- ./obj/dpsnext -oper zdpnext > ./obj/echogs -e .dev -a- ./obj/dpsnext -ps gs_dpnxt > ./obj/echogs -e .dev -w- -l-dev2 -b -s -l-obj ./obj/ps2write > ./obj/echogs -e .dev -a- ./obj/ps2write -include ./obj/pdfwrite.dev > ./obj/genconf ./obj/devs.tr -h ./obj/gconfxx.h -p "%s&s&&" -pl "&-l%s&s&&" -pL > "&-L%s&s&&" -ol ./obj/ld.tr > ./obj/echogs -a ./obj/gconfxx.h > rm -f ./obj/gconfig.c > rm -f ./obj/gconfig.h > rm -f ./obj/iconfig.c > cp ./obj/gconfxx.h ./obj/gconfig.h > cp ./src/iconf.c ./obj/iconfig.c > i686-pc-linux-gnu-gcc -DHAVE_MKSTEMP -DHAVE_HYPOT -O2 -Wall > -Wstrict-prototypes -Wmissing-declarations -Wmissing-prototypes -Wcast-qual > -Wwrite-strings -fno-builtin -fno-common -DHAVE_STDINT_H > -DGX_COLOR_INDEX_TYPE="unsigned long long" -O2 -march=i686 -pipe -I./src > -I./obj -I./obj -I./src -o ./obj/iconfig.o -c ./obj/iconfig.c > cp ./obj/gconfxx.h ./obj/gconfig.h > In file included from ./obj/iconfig.c:39: > ./src/gconf.h:28:23: error: gconfig.h: No such file or directory > make: *** [obj/iconfig.o] Error 1 > make: *** Waiting for unfinished jobs.... > cp ./src/gconf.c ./obj/gconfig.c > i686-pc-linux-gnu-gcc -DHAVE_MKSTEMP -DHAVE_HYPOT -O2 -Wall > -Wstrict-prototypes -Wmissing-declarations -Wmissing-prototypes -Wcast-qual > -Wwrite-strings -fno-builtin -fno-common -DHAVE_STDINT_H > -DGX_COLOR_INDEX_TYPE="unsigned long long" -O2 -march=i686 -pipe -I./obj > -I./src -o ./obj/gconfig.o -c ./obj/gconfig.c > > !!!
