I am using nvidia-drivers-1.0.8762-r1 on x86 with xorg-x11-7.0-r1 and 2.6.16-gentoo-r13 without any problem. I'd suggest hard-masking the old ebuild series for a while before removing it completely. That way, if any users that haven't read this bug sync and suddenly find the new system doesn't work for them, they can still unmask the old (working) version until the problem's fixed. uhm, which version do you want stable? -r1, please... As for masking the old ones, the plan is to do package moves, instead. Anyone who hasn't updated will end up switched automatically. The older packages are crusty and broken in many ways, so letting users remain on them isn't in anyone's best interest. amd64 is happy x86 stable ^.^;; |
