freeglut ERROR: Function <glutSolidCube> called without first calling
'glutInit'.

so you have freeglut instead of glut installed, right?  Can you try it with
glut as well and see if that works?

I confirm the patch fixes this reported bug. thanks. for the next crash, which
happens regardless of glut/freeglut, see 139521.
