Patch to add a space after drag/dropped URLs
have you reported this patch upstream ? if so, what is the bugno ? if i add the patch i still don't see the behaviour you mention (only tested with galeon2). Did you close all gnome-terminal windows, then start it again? The patch was immediately effective for me. Tested with phoenix and mozilla. I haven't reported it upstream as it is non-default behavior - not a bug. It is just a nice feature to have. yeah i know i need to close all the windows, but no it doesn't work for me. not with mozilla or galeon. And well, you could file it as a feature request upstream, see what gets done with it. Created attachment 8866 [details, diff]

Just an update for Gnome 2.2.
what exactly do i have to do to trigger this ? i have the patch, but if i drag say a URL from the locationbar in epiphany/galeon/mozilla , nothing happens. What is a clear defined case in which this should work ? i'm willing to put this in, but i need some feedback here. Pretty much as described. Open a browser like phoenix. Open a gnome-terminal. Click/drag a hyperlink from the browser to the terminal. Unpatched, the URL will be pasted to the terminal. Patched, the URL is pasted AND followed by a single space. Thanks. hmm right it does work now, must've done something wrong all the time. Patch added to 2.2.1-r1 , see how it goes. |
