I unmasked sci-electronics/alliance (it is ~x86) and tried to install it here.
There is an error when trying to link with lMvg:

"cannot find -lMvg"

Thanks for reporting. This is now fixed in CVS, so give it a few hours to reach
a Gentoo mirror near you.

Do I have to use cvs? I have never used it before so I will take some time to
learn how to do it. When is it going to be available so that I can emerge it?

Sorry for the arcane language. My above message meant that I had issued a fix
and that you only needed to wait a few hours for it to reach Gentoo mirrors.
So, just 'emerge --sync' as usual, 'emerge alliance', and enjoy.

And thanks again for taking the time of filing a bug.
