Even if I do: USE="-doc" emerge linphone the build fails. The sgml documents that cause this problem have been removed from linphone-cvs with the following comment: removed obsolete docs. fix bug while resolving local address with request using route field. I'll see if I can create a patch that disables the build of these docs in the Makefile for now. The next version of linphone will probably build correctly, I would guess..... Removed the supposedly obsolete developer-docs directory from the Makefile.
linphone now builds for me.
