Right now rt2500 driver in portage doesn't support for smp kernels.

I've looked into a CVS daily tarball
http://rt2x00.serialmonkey.com/rt2500-cvs-daily.tar.gz and verified that the
patch is now included.

The CVS tarball contains a few more improvements as well, and I recommend that
we take copy and use that instead of just applying this patch.

Since 2 weeks I use cvs tarball, and I haven't observed any problems.
Anyway, the Beta version available in portage cannot be compiled wit kernel
2.6.16 (at least in amd64) anymore.
