I exchanged the Rune files from the Linux Rune CD with xdelta patches. This
shrinked the file down to 6.5 MB. What do you think, is it ok to publish this
slightly changed file?

That would depend on Hammerhead.  We had gotten permission to distribute the
files unmodified.  A new permission would need to be given to provide just the
xdelta files instead.
