Description Randall Nortman 2006-02-26 10:39:37 UTC
I spent a good 15 minutes just now trying to figure out why 'less' was doing color syntax highlighting on a python script. It's not in the man page (unless you already know exactly what to look for -- the LESSOPEN environment variable), and it's not in either of the READMEs in /usr/share/doc/less-*. Sure, I eventually figured it out, but since this appears to be something Gentoo is adding (rather than something in the upstream distribution), shouldn't Gentoo also add a README.Gentoo to tell users what's going on?
