There's a new version of the OpenOffice.org Quickstarter for KDE, called oooqs2
(see URL).  Quickstarter 2 v. 1.0 (not to be confused with Quickstarter v. 2.x)
works well with OO.o 2.0.

I've done a little work on a working ebuild, with a patch that accomodates the
fact that the from-source openoffice build creates icons with different names
than oooqs2 expects by default.  The patch is limited, though; oooqs2 would
need to be recompiled if a system admin replaced openoffice with openoffice-bin
(or vice versa). But at least this is a start.

I just took a closer look at the openoffice-bin ebuild and realized that the
icon names are the same in both.  How convenient!  Simplified ebuild and
comments to clarify attached.

Detector is looking for different named wrapper scripts

We also need a patch for the office detector, since the ooffice script has
another name. See patch.

ebuild is in now as oooqs-2.1.0, thanks to everyone who helped
