(In reply to comment #0) Fixed these: > sci-chemistry/chemtool sci none > sci-chemistry/molden sci spyderous > sci-chemistry/moldy sci spyderous > sci-chemistry/raster3d sci none > sci-mathematics/euler sci none > sci-misc/ncview sci none (In reply to comment #0) > This is technically a feature request, but my understanding is that these > packages are blocking modular xorg from unmasking, so marking this with a > severity of normal.. In the most technical sense, they aren't blocking it. They'll just all break when I do unmask it unless they're ported. I won't be waiting for every app in the tree to get ported beforehand; it's going to be a long asymptote, and it will help discover which apps people actually care about. Since I didn't follow the progress of modular X closely I am a bit lost now... any link to some documentation how to find out which parts of modular X are needed by a given application? Or emerge modular X and ldd happily around, then check to which parts of X the dependencies belong? Or emerge modular X and ldd happily around, then > check to which parts of X the dependencies belong? http://www.gentoo.org/proj/en/desktop/x/x11/modular-x-howto.xml is the users' guide. You'll need to either install modular X yourself (in a chroot, if you can't risk your main filesystem) or find someone with it installed to run the necessary commands. http://www.gentoo.org/proj/en/desktop/x/x11/porting-modular-x-howto.xml is the developers' guide. What won't the included scripts catch? Binaries/scripts run during the build process, e.g. gccmakedep, imake, xmkmf. (In reply to comment #4) [hints to porting guides] Thanks! Done.
> sci-misc/xfoil sci robbat2
fixed.
Remaining: sci-geosciences/grass sci nerdboy sci-libs/plplot sci cryos Only package still not ported to modular X: sci-libs/plplot sci cryos sci-libs/plplot is now ported. The DEPEND tree is very messy, so I didn't port the older version - which should probably just be punted from the tree anyway. Closing this bug since that was the last package to fix. |
