Many apple computers have no external eject button for the optical drive, instead using an eject key on the keyboard. The later version of eject offers a -T option to toggle the drive open/closed. In combination with xmodmap and keybinding, this allows a simple method to activate the eject key without using pbbuttonsd. The pbbuttonsd daemon has had more problems than the method of remapping keys using xmodmap. I have been using this version of eject for a month and it has worked well.
Done.
