kcheckgmail 0.5.5 has been released to fix this. I haven't tried it yet, but
there is a report that it still doesn't work.

Does it work with others DE/WM?
I'm trying under fluxbox, it seems run fine, but don't show any notification
nor new/unread mails.
Everyelse work's, i've got it beautifully in the systray, but no matter how
unread/new emails have it shows nothing.
A single click open gmail login page asking my username/pass.
Does the autentication mechanism still broken or there is a missing kde
dependency?
Fluxbox 0.9.14-gentoo-r1
Qt: 3.3.4
KDE: 3.5.0 (i don't have kde installed, just a bunch of kde apps)
KCheckGmail: 0.5.5
Is there any way to make kcheckgmail output verbose?

oh! Please forgive my n00bish skills!
I've found it:
revertex@genesis ~ $ kcheckgmail --login
"Gmail has been upgraded since this version of KCheckGmail was released. This
may cause all sort of strange errors. Please check for an upgrade to
KCheckGmail soon."
It seems there's no gmail notification that work's under linux, maybe gmail
notification under wine will be my last resort.
My apologies for waste their time.

kcheckgmail 0.5.5 is working fine here still, using KDE.
