After a random number of fortune commands (never more than 10), I get the
following error:
*** glibc detected *** free(): invalid next size (fast): 0x0000000000540530 ***

It even happens through wanda the fish (wanda gets cut off mid sentence)


Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. fortune
2. repeat until message (crash)
3.

Never looked into it??!??  But fortune-mod is the most important app on any
Linux system!

Whole companies could collapse if their fortune is cut off!

I think all other bug work should stop until this is solved!!!! ;)

ok, this is actually a bug in the recode library

update to recode-3.6-r2 and that should fix this issue for you
