wxGTK-2.6.2 was recently released and contains fixes for Joystick support under
Linux. Could the ebuild in portage be updated for wxGTK-2.6.2 please?

I doubt it would require more than a version bump.

I tested it with a version bump and the old 2.6.1 ebuild seems to work fine. It
emerged for me with no problems.

please bump, now gtk 2.8 is unmasked and 2.6.1 has problem with it. 
 
2.6.2 works good instead
