invoking "/etc/init.d/hplip start" won't start hpssd, leaving the service
stopped. however, if I run the services manually and then restart cups,
everything works fine. (everything done as root)

gt strazce # /etc/init.d/hplip start
* Starting hpiod ...                                                     [ ok ]
* Starting hpssd ...                                                     [ !! ]

- top shows no running hpiod process

gt strazce # /usr/sbin/hpiod
gt strazce # /usr/share/hplip/hpssd.py

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. boot the machine (or su and /etc/init.d/hplip start)
Actual Results:
starting hpssd fails, I can't print.

Expected Results:
both services start, cups sees my printer, I can print out anything I wish
