Copying the ebuild for 1.0.3_p1 worked for me.

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. cp ogre-1.0.3_p1.ebuild ogre-1.0.4.ebuild
2. ebuild ogre-1.0.4.ebuild digest
3. ebuild ogre-1.0.4.ebuild unpack
4. rm -fr /var/tmp/portage/ogre-1.0.4/work/ogrenew/autom4te.cache
5. ebuild ogre-1.0.4.ebuild merge
Actual Results:  
Ogre 1.0.4 is installed
