Hi, when I try to install macutil with sharutils-4.4-r1 I get:
>>> Unpacking macutil2.0b3.shar.Z to /var/tmp/portage/macutil-2.0_beta3/work
unshar: /var/tmp/portage/macutil-2.0_beta3/work/PVR=2.0_beta3: No such file or
directory.

As you can see, PVR=2.0_beta3 does not exist, and I don't know where sharutils
takes this :?

No problems using sharutils-4.2.1-r11.

Marking this bug as blocker as it prevents me to install the application. Change
it if you consider it appropriate.

This problem was introduced last fall and not noted until 4.4 was released.
The issue should be closed with the release of 4.5. That has been out for
several days now.... :) P.S. the "funny name" comes from an environment
variable: PVR=2.0_beta3. 4.5 now includes an unshar sanity test.

Oh, I see. So, I simply need to wait until sharutils 4.5 comes to portage.
Thanks :)

Mmmmm... correct me if I'm wrong, but I think sharutils are not needed to
unpack
"plain" (i.e. not in mail) .shar programs.

Doing a sh file.rar, should do the trick.
In this case, is there any way to unpack the .shar file of macutils withouth
using unshar in the ebuild?
