Is it possible that acroread-7.0 in portage uses the language dependent versions? For example through the variable LANGUAGE or LINGUAS? Furthermore the Adobe Acrobat Reader is named Adobe Reader, since version 7.0. Providing no localized ebuild of app-office/openoffice-bin is not an issue, because app-office/openoffice is an offical alternative, which supports localized builds. That means the openoffice.org-bin packages includes the binaries and the english language files. The openoffice.org-l10n-...-packages the special language files. I don't know if the OOo-license includes this. mozilla/mozilla-firefox: In my opinion no problems. Mozilla offers for each browser and each version linux compatible XPI language files. Look at ftp://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.org/firefox/releases/1.0.4/linux-i686/xpi/ When it is possible to install this files with ebuilds => no problem depending on a variable "LANGUAGES" or what ever the XPI file are installed and could be used... adobe-reader: I don't know how to split it, because there are no language versions are available, before. LINGUAS can be set to more than one languages: for example, I'm Italian but I actually use "it en fr de".
