            <thetext>If I specify the &apos;doc&apos; use flag when installing the servletapi-2.4-r1 ebuild, it does NOT install the actuall documentation (also a problem for older versions of ebuild).

Fix to problem

This solves the problem.  The javadocs are NOT generated in the &apos;dist&apos;
directory as assumed by the ebuild, but in the &apos;build&apos; directory</thetext>
