On my system cdrdao compiled fine with dvdrtools installed after I tweaked its ebuild changing its dependancy to virtual/cdrtools. And it seems to be working quite well. During my last tests cdrdao was not compatible with dvdrtools, as it is more lightweighted than cdrtools. So I sticked the dependency to it. As you confirmed that it works, I'll change the dependency. Let's see, if there will be more bugs.
