<thetext>As far as I can tell, updata-desktop-database from desktop-file-utils always segfaults on /usr/share/applications. Notably, desktop-file-utils-0.9 (http://freedesktop.org/Software/desktop-file-utils/releases/desktop-file-utils-0.9.tar.gz) seems to work fine; the fdo site mentions that 0.9 has "Many update-desktop-database improvements (Ray Strode, Dan Williams)". Perhaps it's time for a new ebuild?

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. emerge =desktop-file-utils-0.8
2. update-desktop-database /usr/share/applications

Actual Results:
Segmentation fault

Expected Results:
Successful update
