            <thetext>Even with USE=&apos;-mule&apos;, the tarball is downloaded and unpacked, and the distfile is left behind. Not really a problem, but a waste of space, time, and bandwidth.</thetext>

            <thetext>this is true... the main problem here is that the SRC_URI must remain static
(not depend on use flags) so that the MD5 sum information makes sense. </thetext>
